Kundapur: Different Congregation of Christians Converge for Christmas Celebration to Promote brother

Kundapur, 16 Dec 2013: Catholic Sabha of Kundapur deanery celebrated Christmas brotherhood celebration at St Mary’s Pre-University College auditorium, here on Sunday December 15.


 
Roman Catholic Udupi diocese Bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo inaugurated the celebration by releasing the doves here on Sunday.


 
CSI Bishop Dr J S Sadanand was the chief guest of the occasion.


 
Speaking on the occasion, Bishop Dr Sadanand said, ‘One would not become worthy, unless he/she lives by the purity of heart.  If the people in the society co-exist; shunning differences of caste, creed and religion, then only the Christmas celebrations gets the real meaning,’ said Bishop Dr Sadanand. 


 
Kundapur Tahsildar Gayatri N Nayak said, ‘I believe in live and let others live.  Christmas celebrations are not limited to Christians, because the nation has accepted the good in every religion,’ said Nayak.   She urged the gathering to celebrate Christmas collectively in true spirit.


 
Bishop Dr Gerald in his presidential address said that love is only media that is known to mankind.  Jesus was born into this world to take the mankind into light – a hope for eternity, said Bishop Dr Gerald.   He appealed to the gathering to live in harmony among the people of different faith, caste and creed.

 


 
Kundapur – Our Lady of Rosary parish priest and Kundapur deanery vicar Fr Anil D’Souza, CSI parish priest Fr Yesudas, Mudoor parish priest Fr Sebastian, Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh ® secretary Shanti Pereira, past president Priscilla Menezes, Christmas celebration brotherhood convener Flyone D’souza were present on the dais.


 
The faithful of CSI Kudapur and Basroor, Syrian and Syro Malabar - Jadkal and Mudoor parishes, Roman Catholic parishes of Tallur and Kundapur presented Christmas carols, dance recitals, Bharatanatyam conveying the Christmas message of peace and love on the occasion.


 
The variety cultural shows were also presented on the occasion.


 
Wilson Olivera compered the programme.  Thomas P A proposed vote of thanks.


 
Tallur parish children presented a welcome dance.  Catholic Sabha – Kundapur deanery president Vinod Crasta welcomed the gathering.
