Kundapur: One who fully devoted to Daily Duties lives by Spirit of Deepavali - Dr Hayavadana Moodus

Kundapur, 4 Nov 2013: At the prevailing times of declining communal harmony and globalization, if one does his/her tasks with earnestness, devoutly and in total dedication, each day will bring happiness and joy, like Deepavali, festival of light and hope, said Udupi district Jaatimukta Sambanda Vedike convener Dr Hayavadana Moodusagri.
Dr Hayavadana was speaking after inaugurating Souharda Deepavali – 2013 that was held at Kala Mandir of Kundapur Pre-University College, here on Friday November 1 evening.
There are several sects in this world, while all those who live in this earth belong to universal mankind. The need of the hour is brotherhood and humanity at time bloodshed is occurring in the name of God and religion. One has to be human above casteism and religion.
Speaking on the occasion, Kannada renowned young poet Peer Basha said that Deepavali is the festival of light and hope. Whatever the shape of the lamp, it radiates light that had to rekindle the faith in humanity to lead meaningful lives. The festivals had to bring different community together in strengthening the bond, said Peer Basha.
Udupi Catholic diocesan Bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo in his message said that all religions on earth propagate peace, love, harmony and brotherhood. All religions believe in universal God and don’t teach to hate none. There have been conflicts in the guise of religions in the world by building barriers instead of binding the mankind. In order for a religion to thrive, they ought to treat people of different faiths equally, said Bishop Dr Gerald. He also hoped Deepavali, the festival of light brings hope on mankind to be humane at all times, hoped Bishop Dr Gerald.
Gangolli gram panchayat president Sakamma and Rajesh couple were felicitated during the programme.
