Puttur: Hindu Brethrens involved in Cow-Lifting; Counter-Complaint Lodged at Police Station

Puttur, 23 Aug 2013: Kadaba police registered a case on a group of 7 Hindu brethrens, who were nabbed by local Muslim youth, while transporting cattle in a pick-up truck at Savanoor that comes under the limits of Kadaba police station, near here. The accused were presented before the court that awarded judicial custody.

 

 

A cow was missing from the shed of a certain P Usman, a farmer living in Savanoor, near here since a few days.  When the youth were searching for the missing cow, they stumbled upon a pick-up truck that was transporting the cow to an unknown location.  The youth lodged complaint with Kadaba police alleging the Hindu brethrens stolen the cow that belonged to P Usman and are trying to sell the same.

 

The police seized the pick-up truck and registered cases on 7 Hindu brethrens.

 

Kadaba police registered a case on Lingappa Gowda, Narayan Gowda, Prakash, Santosh Gowda, Vishwanat, Sundar Poojary and truck driver Shafi on charges of stealing the cow.

 

Meanwhile, the accused registered a counter-complaint alleging that they were transporting the cow that belonged to Usman and was trespassing on neighbour’s farmlands, whilst the Muslim youth chased their truck and threatened them.

 

The circle inspector Suresh Kumar, Kadaba sub-inspector Nagaraj arrived on the spot and calmed the situation.

 

Let the saffron leaders learn a lesson

There are good and bad people in the society.  One who does evil has to be punished and its not just to abuse the community that he belongs, stated Mangalore Central Committee president Ali Hassan and convener Aziz Kudroli in a media release.

 

Its better the saffron leaders learn a lesson from the incident of Savanoor.  The truth will prevail.  The incident has proved the role of saffron activists who were alleging a specific community for every incidents of cattle-lifting.  What will the leaders of saffron wing got to say, when their activists were involved in cattle-lifting? queried Ali Hassan and Aziz Kudroli.

 

Although the state regime has changed, abusing a specific community has not stopped.  It need to be addressed whether it’s due to apathy of state government, failure of law enforcing agencies or saffronizing. They urged the law enforcement agencies to register a case on those for their alleged communalized speeches on August 19 because they are trying to create disharmony amongst people of different faiths.
