Mangalore, 2 May 2013: Kerala CM Ummen Chandy on Thursday May 2 arrived in the city to begin daylong campaign for the upcoming assembly elections.
CM Chandy addressed Malayalee students at Shanti Nilaya cathedral auditorium, and urged them to vote for Congress as Karnataka needs a change of regime because it’s during the BJP rule the students were subjected to moral policing by communal outfits. The students were terrified of overtures in the city by fundamentalists that brought the city disgrace in global media.
Kerala MP and Karnataka assembly elections Congress overseer P T Thomas, AICC member P V Mohan, Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee (DCC) acting president Kodijal Ibrahim, veteran Congressmen and a large number of party activists were present at the occasion.
CM Chandy later paid a visit to DCC election publicity office and spoke to party men, and proceeded to scheduled campaigns at Beltangady, Kadaba and other constituencies of Dakshina Kannada district.
