Mangalore, 01 May 2013: The intellectuals of the city, lawyers, doctors and engineers gathered during an intellectual meet held at Moti Mahal banquet hall, here on Wednesday May 1 morning, to express support to J R Lobo, Congress candidate contesting from Mangalore south legislative assembly constituency in the upcoming elections on Sunday May 5.

The intellectuals of the city are concerned of slow progress in undertaking different developmental works in the municipal limits during four-terms of MLA Yogish Bhat.  It was evident that they have high hope on bureaucrat-turned-politician J R Lobo, who has in depth knowledge of city and the need of various developmental works that ought to be undertaken at the earliest in the fastest growing city next to state capital of Karnataka.

Speaking on the occasion, J R Lobo said that Okaying demolition of one-hundred-twenty-five-year-old British built Lady Goschen Hospital in the city by MLA Yogish Bhat was mindless who trusted the promises of private enterprise to build anew.  Meanwhile, union minister of petroleum Veerappa Moily has come to the rescue in convincing the authorities of Mangalore Refineries and Petrochemicals (MRPL) Limited to construct the new building at a cost of Rs 26 crore, as the healthcare services were badly hit at the premises, said J R Lobo.

J R Lobo said that he had joined Congress to bring about change and strive to transform the city into Singapore with better infrastructure and accountability that was amiss for all these years.  He thanked KPCC for issuing party ticket to contest the upcoming assembly elections and solicited them for their votes at the occasion.

J R Lobo denied the allegations leveled by opponent Yogish Bhat and its normal in politics to fabricate stories at the height of election campaign to hoodwink the voters who are well aware of colors of politicians.

The lawyer Manoraj compered the programme.
