Kuwait: Indian Cultural Society presents Suhani Shaam

Kuwait, 12 Dec 2012: Indian Cultural Society conducted a romantic Ghazal evening with young ghazal maestro Jaswinder Singh first time ever in Kuwait on 30th November 7.00 pm at the Dr. Kamil Al Rays Auditorium. Glamorous silver screen actresses Raveena Tandon as well as laughter machine sardar Manjit Singh were the attraction of the evening.

The chief guest of the evening was the Ambassador of India to Kuwait, H.E. Mr. Satish C. Mehta. Even before the show started, there was an excitement & energy in the air as our audience — young and old alike — rushed into the venue wearing smiles, carrying affable social harmony welcomed by finest ICS executives overriding with enthusiasm hauling ghazal & geet , in styles.
The eminent guests present were Juzar Ali Manager ( MD- Wadisakeef),  Greg Almeida( DR-Radisson Blu), Asad Khan (GM- KSCC), Aijaz Ahmed (MD- Sahara ACC), A R Tariq (GM-KBE), Kamal Hussain ( GM-Kuwait Cont.)N. Malhotra (MD- Z & M) , Narendra Jehani (Manager- Taal & Dawat), Sharif Rangrez (Eternity Travels), Alkesh Thakkar ( MD- Crescent Gen.Trd. ) with Minhaj Shikari & Murtaza P.

The show was anchored by the exemplary President of Indian Cultural Society Ashfaque A Khan in his customary style.
The main show kicked off with a singing performance by Kaisar Ali creating a perfect mood for the evening followed by great satirical poet Manjit Singh.  A crowd pleaser with the perfect combination of Hindi poetry in laughter machine, a laugh riot caused by funny man Manjit Singh who had the crowd ins splits with his act. Manjit Singh involved the audience with his drolly & humorous laughter punches. He created new ray of hope for Hindi Poetry.

The highlight of the show was the unique entry of guest of honor actress Raveena Tandon. She entered among the crowd with stylist promo & introduction by Mr.Khan. The stage was glorified when she performed with kids from the Dancing Divas. She appreciated their superb talent as well as ICS efforts towards community.  Event Souvenir was released in her presence by H.E. S.C. Mehta & respected sponsors. H.E. appreciated ICS social contributions & its regular quality entertainment. Suhaani Shaam now turns towards ghazal fragrance while Lavina Rodrigues brought Shamma (eve candle) with young ghazal maestro Jaswinder Singh. His melodious voice & perfect musical team generated aroma of ghazal in the atmosphere.

 

Equally excellent & perfect sound-light combination was a complete treat for ghazal lovers. Jaswinder started with “Yoon to Kya Kya Nazar Nahi Aata” than his popular composition “Dil Ko Thama, Unka Daman Tham Ke, Mere Dono Hanth, Nikle Kaam Ke” and indulging the audience in his intoxicating. He sang series of ghazal like “Jo Kisi Par Fida Nahi Hota”, “Dil e Nada Tujhe Hua Kya Hai”, “Tumko Dekha to Ye Khayal Aaya”, “Phir Gulabon Ka Mausam Khila Hai- Phir Koi Yaad Aane Laga Hai”, “Jab Kaali Ghata Chhaye..Barsat Ke Mausam Mein- Peene Ka Maza Aaye..Barsat Ke Mausam Mein”, “ La Peela Raat Bhr Saqeeya- Kal Ki Kisko Khabar Saqeeya” etc.

 

 Audiences were spell bound by the magical voice when he sang ghazal dedicated to Maa (mother) “Sakht Raahon Mein, Aasan Safar Lagta Hai- Ye Meri Maa Ki Duaon Ka, Asar Lagta Hai”. The singing session became more entertaining when he sang request from ghazal lovers including Punjabi numbers & Bhangra.

 

Little Safa Khan also presented soulful semi classical ghazal (Woh Chup Rahe To Mere Dil Ke Daagh Jalte Hain) with Jaswinder Singh & Raveena cheered her with guest & audience. Raveena could not stop & performed on Sufi style of Sufi song “Damaa Dam Mast Kalander” by Jaswinder. He also gave tribute to ghazal king Mahdi Hasan & Jagjit Singh by some popular ghazals. The guests were gifted memento & gift hampers by Sahara & ICS. The ICS president expressed his gratitude to all executives of ICS, volunteers, event supporters, Sponsors as well as special thanks to Varghese Paul(Sound Engg)), S.Philip & Anand       (Light –Video) Huzaifa Padlandi (Director- German Press), Harry & Michael (Catering- Royal Plaza) Rashid Sheikh for auditorium services, Anwar Sadath & Shahzad Ahmed for still photography. Mr. Khan also expressed his thanks to the media & press.

 

The show concluded with audience singing along & desiring for more. The hard work of the ICS team & quality entertainment on time is becoming a model for live programmers in Kuwait.
