Inauguration of new Presbytery at Shirva

Shirva, 03 Jul 2012: The newly built presbytery of Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva was inaugurated on 30th June, 2012 by Rev. Dr. Baptist Menezes, the Episcopal Vicar of Udupi region of the Diocese of Mangalore. The Assistant Priests Fr Gratian and Fr Naveen lead the prayer. Rt. Rev. Gerald Lobo, the Bishop of Shimoga blessed the house.

 

The thanksgiving mass was presided over by Bishop Gerald and over 25 priests participated in the Mass. Rev. Fr Fredrick Monteiro gave an inspiring homily. After the Mass, there was a short felicitation programme. The bishop, the Episcopal Vicar, and Rev. Fr. Stany Tauro, the Parish Priest, Mr. Irwin D’Souza the Vice-President, Mr. Melwyn Aranha the Secretary were on the dais.

 

 

Mr. Irwin welcomed everyone followed by the introductory words of Rev. Fr. Stany Tauro. The chief sponsor of the presbytery, Mr. Lawrence D’Souza, Ceasers Group, Kuwait was honoured. The benefactors and well wishers of the presbytery were also honoured by the Bishop.

 

In his Speech, the Bishop appreciated the efforts of the Parish Priest and the parishioners. Both the Bishop and the Parish Priest were honoured. Mr.Melwyn Aranha proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. Norbert Machado compeered the programme. After the programme, there was a sumptuous meal for everyone. Everyone appreciated the programme.
