Accidents claim 3 lives in Udupi

Udupi, 04 Jun 2012: Three persons have been killed in two separate incidents in Udupi district on Monday. In the first incident, two women, traveling in an auto rickshaw, were killed when a goods truck rammed into it at Santhekatte. The deceased have been identified as Meenakshi (32) and Jalaja (55). While one of them died on the spot, the other died at the hospital. The goods vehicle was plying from Kundapur to Udupi and the rickshaw was on its way from Udupi towards Kundapur. The driver has been hospitalized.

 

 

In another accident a 70-year-old woman was killed when a lorry hit a bus which she was about to board. The accident occurred at Ambagilu, Nittur. The deceased was identified as Korati Poojarti from Nittur. Police said the victim was to board a bus when a lorry rammed into it from the rear. Due to the impact, the old woman lost her balance and thrown on to the road.

 

In Mangalore, Yashwin (24), employed in a mall here was killed when he was run over by the bus which hit his bike.
