Udupi, 24 August 2011: When Shiruru Shree had ascended to the Paryaya Peeta, he had made Krishna’s Rathabeedi free of vehicles. Now the Mutt’s respected devotees have urged Shree to make the Rathabeedi free of business activities, which would invite to have opposition – protest again on Rathabeedi. This demand from the devotees was manifested during the concluding ceremony of the 10 days Shri Krishna Janmastami on Tuesday.

Respected devotees of Shri Krishna Mutt; Darmadarshi Harikrishna Punaruru and D.K. district KSP President Pradip Kumar Kalkura put forward their strong demand before Shree to close the business activities on Rathabeedi. The verandas of Shri Anantheshwara and Shri Chandramaulishwara Temples should not be the place of business activities. Therefore Paryaya Shree should take up the measures to vacate these shops from there, they urged.

Kalkura also said that, Rathabeedi is not the place of business, it is the Nandanavana of Krishna. Earlier while Shree initiated to make Rathabeedi free from vehicles, there was strong protest. But once it became free from vehicles all those protests were over and there was no problem to anyone. The shops which are to be vacated from Rathabeedi needs to be made alternative arrangement elsewhere, he said.

Speaking on the occasion Kateel Darmadarshi Laxminarayana Asranna said that, today in the society, the refinement – culture is diminishing. So the utsava celebrations in the temples are very important, he said. The main part of the concluding ceremony was the prize distribution to the winners in the cultural competitions of Krishnastami, which was conducted by Shiruru Shree.
