Mangaluru: MCC commissioner Hephsiba Korlapati transferred

 

Mangaluru, 12 Jun 2015: Mangaluru City Corporation Commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlpati has been transferred as CEO of Vijayapura Zilla Panchayat, official sources said on Friday, June 12.

 

The transfer comes barely six months after she assumed charge as the MCC Commissioner.

 

 

Korlapati was always in the news mainly for all the wrong reasons during her brief stint in the city. In the very first week of her tenure, she earned the wrath of paurakarmikas for not entering their houses for inspection. A few days later, a group of city corporators along with the then mayor had requested the Chief Minister to transfer her alleging that she failed to do justice to her job and that she hardly had any respect for them. However, the CM discarded the appeal and urged the corporators to render service with mutual understanding and co-operation. Present MCC Mayor Jascintha Alfred and Korlpati too share differences of opinion on several issues and that all is not well between them, it is gathered.

 

However Korlapati always maintained that she was trying to bring in an effective administrative system but she never got good support from her councillors.

 

Korlapati had replaced Ajit Kumar Hegde Shanadi on January 1 this year.
