Kolkata, 18 Sep 2012: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Tuesday announced that the Trinamool Congress was withdrawing support to the UPA government.

"Our ministers will submit their resignations to the prime minister Friday. We are withdrawing our support from UPA-2," Banerjee told a news conference here.

The decision was taken at a three-hour meeting of Trinamool leaders and MPs to protest against the hike in diesel prices and allowing foreign direct investment (FDI) in retail trade.
