Mangalore: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel visits Bishop house
Mangalore, 05 Jul 2014: Nalin Kumar Kateel, who registered his second successive victory in the Lok Sabha Elections visited the Bishop’s House on Friday July 4.
Bishop of Mangalore, Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, felicitated him and also submitted a memorandum containing six important demands.
Mangalore to be included in the Smart city list
Mangalore city has a large number of prestigious educational institutions, renowned hospitals The central government has decided to develop 100 smart cities in the country and Mangalore should be included in the same.
Extend help to Christians as well
The Central government extends assistance to Muslims for undertaking pilgrimage to Mecca. Similarly members of Christian community who plan to visit Israel, Bethlehem, and Jerusalem should also be given assistance.
Welfare Fund
The BJP regime in Karnataka witnessed creation of a fund exclusively for the progress of Christian community. The central government too is requested to start such a fund for the welfare of Christians.
Against Niddodi Thermal Power Plant
The proposed Niddodi thermal power project is against the interests of the people and hence must be withdrawn. It would damage environment and also have an impact on agriculture.
Create Jobs
There is a need to create more jobs and creation of agencies that will provide jobs is the need of the hour. Young graduates are compelled to leave their city and work in other places. Industries that can create employment needs to be established.
Steps should be taken to protect Indians stranded in Iraq.
