Mysore: Innumerable devotees attend annual feast of miraculous St Antony at Dornahalli

Mysore, 14 Jun 2014: The innumerable devotees regardless of caste, creed and religion attended the annual feast of miraculous St Antony that was celebrated with utmost reverence at Dornahalli, K R Nagar, near here on Friday June 13.
Mysore Bishop Dr Thomas A Vazhapilly concelebrated the festal Eucharistic Celebration along with the Shrine director Fr Gilbert D’ Silva and other priests here on Friday.
Bishop Dr Thomas in his homily said that St Antony grants good health, peace and happiness to those who seek fervently. ‘The shrine is an intermediary to pray to God. We should be grateful to God for having bestowed St Anthony to us. Our speech should be good and we should inculcate the teachings of God in our lives,’ said Bishop Dr Thomas.
Fr John Abraham of the archdiocese of Bangalore offered Holy Mass in Tamil.
The nine-day novenas in honor of St Antony were held at the Shrine ahead of annual feast led by Fr Stany D’ Souza, parish priest of Our Lady of Perpetual Succor, Harihar; Fr Sagaya Pushparaj, parish priest in the diocese of Mysore and Fr Sebastian, parish priest in the diocese of Bangalore.
Fr Gilbert D’ Silva flagged-off colorful car procession of St Antony on the occasion.
Special prayer services were held for the recovery of sick and ailing with the intercession of St Antony.
Fr Gilbert D’Silva thanked annual feast celebration Committee, religious nuns and priests, laities who strived for the success of annual feast.
