Udupi: Third Annual sports meet at Jnanaganga PU College Moodubelle

Udupi/M’belle,26 Dec 2013: Jnanaganga PU College, Moodubelle celebrated its 3rd Annual Sports Day. The day filled with fun and frolic began with an inaugural function. One of the guests, Sri Chnadrashekhar Alva, Manager of the Kattingeri Branch of Karnataka Bank, hoisted the flag. He also addressed the students and spread the message of making oneself the biggest competitor to avoid unfair or unjust competition with others.
The other guest and a well wisher of the institution, Sri Prabhakar G conveyed his wishes humbly with his presence. The inauguration of the sports meet was done uniquely by letting lose colourful balloons by the chief guest, Sri Prabhakar G. Sri Prabhakar K S, Convener, was also present on this festive occasion.
The host for the inaugural was Ms Smitha. The Principal, Sri U L Bhat, paid his respects to the Late G S Shivarudrappa and requested the gathering to offer a silent prayer. Mr Raghu, Physical Education Director, proposed the vote of thanks.
Needless to say, the students representing the four houses, Red, Green, Blue and Yellow, displayed their flawless co ordination through a marchpast.
The students took the customary pledge to keep the laws of sports in mind and participate with the true spirit of sportsmanship. They kept their word and participated in a plethora of events both on the field and track.
The budding athletes who won prizes were awarded during the course of the day.
The Valedictory programme began at 4 in the afternoon. The Chief Guest for the function was Sri Nagaraj Kamath, an industrialist in Moodubelle, who lowered the flag and gave away the remaining prizes. He complimented the students about the success of the day’s programme and also wished them luck for the coming examinations.
Mr Shrinivas Bhat hosted the programme. The Principal, Sri U L Bhat welcomed the gathering and Mr Raghu, Physical Education Director, proposed the vote of thanks.
