Hassan: Election Officer offers Training to Vote Counting Staff

Hassan, 8 May 2013: The assistant Election Officer Rameshwarappa o0n Tuesday May 7 organized a preparatory training to election staff who are assigned the task of vote counting at Medical College auditorium, here on Wednesday May 9.
He explained how to compile the total votes in the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) through PowerPoint presentation and live demonstration from dummy EVM.
Addressing the media persons Deputy Commissioner (DC) Gopalakrishna said that the voters’ turnout in the assembly elections was 79 percent, said DC Gopalakrishna.
The vote count of 7 legislative assembly constituencies will begin at Government Arts College, here at 8.00am on Wednesday May 8. Fourteen tables are placed and separate staff is assigned each task for smooth functioning of vote count that will be held in 20 rounds. The results will be announced by 12.30pm to 1.00pm, added DC Gopalakrishna.
