Udupi: Belle Village registers over 70 percent vote in the Assembly Election

Moodubelle, 05 May 2013: There was unprecedented enthusiasm among the voters in the Belle village as over 70 percent of the eligible voters cast their votes in the just concluded Assembly elections.
In Kattingeri First Booth at Edmeru School the percentage of voting was 67 percent and at Kattingeri Anganwadi it was 72 percent. In Church Aided Higher Primary School, Moodubelle in Booth number one 70 percent of the voters cast their vote and in Booth number two 71 percent. In Padubelle at Shri Narayanaguru School the percentage was 70 where as in the Government Higher Primary School it was 74 percent.
Two brides, Manjula and Rajivi of Thirlapalke exercised their voting rights on the day of their wedding. After casting their votes in Church Aided Higher Primary School at around 10 am proceeded to Udupi to enter into wedlock with their bridegrooms.
The fate of three prominent candidates-Lalaji R. Mendon of the BJP, Vinayakumar Sorake of the Congress and JD(S) candidate Vasant V. Salian will be decided by the high voters’ turn out in the Kaup Constituency.
