Albert is 72-year-old, but too young to enthrall Mangaloreans with rock melodies
Mangalore, 07 Nov 2012: Mangalorean Albert Jossy Rego is 72-year-old, but he is still young when it comes to music. He is all set to rock Mangaloreans with ’Rock Around theClock’, a rock musical concert.
The speciality of the concert is that it is being organised for a noble cause of helping HIV positive and elderly at old age homes. Albert, singer and guitarist, will enthrall citizens along with his band at Hotel Ocean Pearl here on November 10.
Albert told that the proceeds of the programme, which will be organised in association with Rotary Club Mangalore Central, will be donated to Cardits, Bangalore based NGO that cares Aids victims and Ave Maria Palliative Care, a hospice for cancer patients located in Vamanjur here.
"We are holding the programme here after the success of similar concert held in Bangalore in 2011. The show will feature global legendary Rock ’n’ Roll musicians Bill Haley, Elvis Presley, L’ll Richards, Shakin Stevens, Pat Boone, Jean Vincent, Ricky Nelson, Everly Brothers, Cliff Richards, Beatles, Louis Armstrong, Englebert Humperdinchh, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Eric Clapton and others. ’No Mascara’, a Bangalore-based band, singers and musicians from Goa, Bangalore, Canada and Mangalore will enthrall the music buffs with melodies of contemporary singers," he said adding that entry will be restricted through pass.
"It is also a tribute to the legends of Rock ’n’ Roll and Mangalorean legend Denzil Karkada," Albert said.
