Mangalore, 14 Oct 2012: Veerappa Moily, Central minister for corporate affairs addressed the Congress leaders and workers at the Circuit House, Mangalore on Sunday, October 14, 2012. Though his chief aim was to see to it that the preparations for the forthcoming visit of Sonia Gandhi to Mangalore are in place, he reminded the Congress leaders and workers that the allegations by Arvind Kejriwal and India Against Corruption team against Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Sonia Gandhi that he has been favoured by the real estate giant DLF are politically motivated. He claimed that an attempt is being made to damage the reputation of the Gandhi family.
Veerappa Moily also had a dig at the Karnataka State BJP government for poorly handling the case of the Cauvery River dispute with Tamilnadu. He said that the government has not presented the case of state in relation to the dispute before the Supreme Court in right manner keeping in mind the interest of the state farmers.
Referring to the visit to the city by Sonia Gandhi on October 18, Moily said that her visit will galvanize the Congress party in the Dakshina Kannada District and surrounding regions. He acused the BJP government being corrupt and inefficient. He made an appeal to the Congress leaders and workers to work unitedly and defeat the BJP government in the next state elections.
