Grand Celebration of 10th Anniversary of Sharjah Karnataka Sangha

Abu Dhabi, 21 May 2012: A grand and impressive celebration of 10th Anniversary of Karnataka Sangha took place amidst presence of Most Rev. Bishop HE Henry D’Souza and Sri Sri Sri Esha Vittala Dasa Swamiji at the Al Dana Ball Room of Hotel Holiday International, Sharjah.
Also three prominent personalities of Abu Dhabi were awarded with Mayura award in recognisation of their dedication and service to community in their respective fields namely: M. E. Moolur, Mr. Walter D’Souza and Mr. Harish Sherigar.
The event began with a short prayer by Pushpanjali followed by Children’s classical dances by young children/teenagers. A special item “Mangalorean Golden Era’ was presented by “Mogachim Laran“ musical troupe. A few skits and folk dances, Bollywood dances, couple dance by Konkani couple, Kannada film songs/dances followed one after the other entertaining the audience through out the day.
During lunch break songs in different languages were sung by various singers of different community which gave feeling of equality among many community members assemble to the programme.
After the lunch break the chief guests of the day HE Henry D’Souza (Bishop of Ballary) and Sri Sri Sri Esha Vittala Dasa Swamiji of Sandipani Sadana Ashram along with Prof. Abubacker Tumbe (Indian School Ras Ali Khaimah were escorted to the dais with traditional band and umbrellas by other guests and members of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah. Ganesh Rai (Ex President) welcomed them to the dais and they were felicitated with floral bouquets followed by lighting of traditional lamp by all guests on dais.
The prestigious Mayura awards were bestowed to three well known personalites in Dubai namely M. E. Moolur, Mr. Walter D’Souza and Mr. Harish Sherigar by Bishop of Bellary and Sri Sri Sri Vittala Dasa. They were presented with shawl, fruits and mementos.
Mementos to all media personalities, sponsors and prominent guests and dignitaries were presented.
The fully packed audience enjoyed the entire event and also appreciated the committee members for inviting chief guests from three different religion to show unity among all Karnataka people.
