Kuwait: DON KORODANXO SOMBHROM-2012 on April 13th

Kuwait, 09 April 2012: Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) is geared up to present the event of the year "DON KORODANXO SOMBHROM - 2012" 0n 13th of April at American International School, maidan Hawalli, Kuwait.

  

 

Popular young konkani singer and composer Kevin Misquith and ace guitarist Rajgopal from Mangalore will specially perform on this occassion for the first time in Kuwait. Prominent and melodious konkani singer Rony D’Cunha is also set to rock the stage. Special sequence of jokes written by Lancy Rodrigues will be presented and performed by Stephen Macado and team.

Kevin Misquith the lead vocalist of his band Milestone, is a well known singer and composer. He is well known among the Konkani music lovers around the world. Making his appearance into the Konkani music scene at a very young age, he has been performing consistently since then. He is the only singer/composer among the young generation of Konkani musicians who has successfully sustained and delivered good quality consistently over the past four years and reached the Milestone of presenting 20 Music shows consistently while no other composer is even near to this mark. Kevin with his sheer passion and dedication to music has been successful in achieving so.

 
Kevin’s music compositions stand apart from most of the other composers of the present day with quality lyrics from various noted poets including Kevin himself and a blend of good music from wide variety of genres. Kevin has been successful in introducing a new blend into Konkani music and promoting Konkani music to greater heights which has been very well accepted by the music lovers of all ages across the Konkani world.

Innovation has been the keystone of Kevin’s music, who has succeeded in establishing a niche in the competitive contemporary Konkani music world. This has worked wonders with him who has been climbing the ladder of popularity in Konkani music circles for the sheer energy he exudes in his music .

Kevin Misquith released his first Konkani debut album, ‘Rupnem’. Following the huge response for his debut album, he released yet another Konkani hit album ‘Tuji Yaad’. His latest Konkani album, ‘He Jeen’, was an instant hit with overwhelming response from the Konkani and Non-Konkani music lovers, and was a huge success. ‘He Jeen’ won the ‘Best lyricist’ award for the cult song ‘Kenna Kenna’ and was also nominated in the best composition category at the Global Konkani Music Awards. Apart from presenting 20 music concerts he has also performed in major events lke the First world convention of Cannara Catholics, First World Konkani Cultural Convention, Konkani Mahatsov, Karnataka Konkani Sangeethotsav, Konkani Fiesta and many others.  It goes to the credit of Kevin that within a short period of his music career he has been able to perform consistently giving quality music with 20 music nites and 3 music albums to his credit and the fourth to be released soon.

The upcoming album of Kevin Misquith is set to release during Kevin’s maiden international concert in Kuwait. The album features music compositions of Kevin, lyrics are done by the best Konkani poets of recent times which include the likes of Kendr Sahithya Academy award winner Melvyn Rodrigues, Kishho Barkur, Sanjay Borkar,  Clement Fernanades, Wilson Kateel, HM Pernal and Kevin himself. For the first time seven various music arrangers have come together to arrange Music for a single album they include Global Konkani music award winners Roshan D’souza and Darrel Mascarenhas, Milestone’s Patson Pereira- Jackson Noronha, Ashwin Xavier Pinto, Dolwin Mendonca, Ronald Aron Coates and the best singers of the region have lent their voices for the album.

 

Rajgopal – Lead Guitarist 

 

 

Rajgopal, a versatile lead guitarist, is very popular in Mangalore and in Karnataka music industry and as he has been a professional lead guitarist since 1990. He has been the leader of the well known beat group of Coastal Karnataka “Strings” for the past 18 years. He has also been regularly performing in the popular band in Bangalore “Hi Spirits” for corporate shows and concerts.

 

He has performed in numerous shows in Southern India with cine playback singer Chitra Iyer and accompanied in the reality shows for ASIANET. He has performed in concerts and recordings with Kannada Film Music Directors Guru Kiran and Praveen D. Rao. In addition, he has performed with singing legends like S.P Balasubramanyam, S. Janaki, K.S. Chitra, Usha Uthup, Udit Narayan,  Abhijit and Anil Bajpai in Karnataka and Mumbai as well.

Rajgopal has been an active personality in Television industry and has played solo shows for ZEE TV Kannada, ETV. He has accompanied a high caliber of musicians for the star studded reality shows in Kasturi TV and Suvarna TV. He has been a lead guitarist in all the concerts held in memory of ‘Jim Reeves’ in Mangalore.

 

Rajgopal has been an inspiration to a lot of young musicians who are shining in the music industry. His guitar playing has been really versatile and can play both western and eastern classical music very smoothly and efficiently. His commitment and dedication to music is praiseworthy. He has played lead guitar and composed music in most of the Konkani albums. He has been actively promoting Konkani music as he has been playing Konkani songs in the catholic weddings Coastal Karnataka.
