Kuwait : UMK’ s fun filled evening -2011 Captures Hearts

Kuwait, 12 October 2011: United Mangaloreans Kuwait’, a troupe of young, talented artistes and Like minded people from Mangalore, residing in Kuwait, presented Fun Filled evening 2011 in aid of ’White Doves’ Mangalore, at American International School, Auditorium, Maidan Hawally, Kuwait on Friday October 7th at 5.30 pm in front of a packed audience.
The event began with a slide show about the activities of UMK.

 

In a unique way, the UMK members welcomed the guests and audience by displaying the banners.

 

Children and members of  UMK, Joyce, Vinitha, Glenda, Juliet, Sandra, Sunil, Johnson, Nelson, Roshan, Prakash, Blessiya, Nichole, Riya, Iral, Irisha, Swizzal, Sania, Sara, Delma, Fedora, Priyanna, Mariet, Suzzette, Marvin, Favin, Glaron and Baby Krisha, Renwick, Samantha, Josline, Robin, Shannon, Neil, Angel, Joel and Andrea attired in colourful costumes danced to the tunes of Konkani and Bollywood numbers, choreographed by the talented Joyce, Sunil, Vrinda, Renwick, Andrea and Joel Pinto.

 

Nancy, Normal, Markus, Retina and Purina Manchu sang melodies songs ’Kedna Kedna’, ’Don Kalian Eke Jail’, ’Together Nick Samantha’.

 

Followed by the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, Chief guests Fr. Noel Almeida, Dr. Sneha Lata Goel (Nuna), Vishal Goel appreciated the good work of UMK and wished the best.

 

 

Sponsors of the event Dr. Sneha Lata (Nuna) Goel, Vishal Goel, Vincent Fernandes, Satishchandra Shetty and co-sponsors, the contributors of the program the director of the drama Ronald D’Souza, music director Sumeet Noronha, choreographers along with the various media persons were felicitated with bouquets. Visiting priests Fr. James D’Souza and Fr. Melvyn Fernandes were also felicitated with bouquets.

 

Gurkar of UMK Agnel Saldanha announced the collection of Rs.11.10 lacs donation towards ‘White Doves Mangalore’.

 

The high point of the event was the well-executed comedy thriller ‘Sangon Mugadana,’ performed by the new and old talented actors of UMK. The play was written by renowned director Pradeep Barboza of Paladka, who has six other dramas under his belt, all of those are immensely popular in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Mangalore. The drama was directed BY Ronald D’Souza Mulki.

 

 

A brilliantly written script, perfect comic timing and superb acting by the artistes Agnel Saldanha, Alexander Fernandes, Gladys Pinto, Kevin D’Souza, Levnis Suares, Lucy Aranha, Macleen Rodrigues, Mary Saldanha, Rajesh Fernandes, Remi Cornelio, Santhosh Rodrigues, Sathish Saldanha, Victor Saldanha, Vincent Coelho and Vinnifred D’Souza won the hearts of the largely gathered theatre lovers. The story portrays the culture of a village, depicted beautifully with the blend of comedy and tragedy with some spicy scenes.

 

The slide show was presented by Glen Fernandes. Stage was set by Manoj Farangipet, Levnis Suares and Anand Pais.  Make-up by Ajay Gosh and Ledwin Bothelho and lights & sound were provided by Illuminations (Anand D’Souza).

 

Vrinda Lewis proposed vote of thanks. Sanjay Baretto & Joyce Fernandes compered the event.

A wonderful program and I congatulate app the organizers and all who took part on the various events. You all took a lot of pain and time for all this. A very touching programme aimed at helping the underpriviledged. It pleases the Lord immensely. The children s dances and Music by Suneeth Noronha are indeed a great contribution to the noble cause.
