Karkal: Express bus collides with auto rickshaw; woman dies, toddler critical

Karkal, 18 Oct 2014: A woman passenger died and her toddler critically injured when the auto rickshaw that they were travelling collided with a private express bus at nearby Nitte, here on Friday October 17. Over 35 bus passengers were also suffered injuries of different proportions.

 

The private express bus plying from Karkal to Mangalore collided with auto rickshaw plying from Karkal to Belman, collided at Halekatte – Manbettu, near Nitte, here on Friday.

 

 

The bus passengers injured were admitted to Kasturba Hospital, Manipal and private hospital in Karkal.

 

Udupi district-in-charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, former MLA H Gopal Bhandary, TP former president Jayaram Salian visited the spot.

 

Karkal rural police are on the spot, registered a case and investigations are underway.
