Mangalore: Beary’s Welfare Forum invites applications for Mass Weddings

Mangalore, 2 Aug 2014: ‘To discourage the dowry menace in Muslim community, Abu Dhabi based Beary’s Welfare Forum (BWF) invites applications for mass weddings from the women of Muslim community,’ said BWF president Mohammed Ali Ucchil.
Addressing the media persons at the media conference held here on Friday August 1, Mohammed Ali said, ‘In order to eradicate the dowry menace and help the women of the economically-weaker families to get married, BWF has been organizing mass weddings with all the expenses being borne by BWF since 5 years. Fifty-five couples are already benefitted from this initiative. The sixth mass weddings programme will be held at Millagres church hall on October 18. BWF will spend about Rs 1.80 lac that includes jewellery and wedding dress.’
‘The applicant had to find the groom and Committee will shortlist the beneficiaries on the basis of their background,’ added Mohammed Ali.
The applicants had to forward their applications to BWF mass wedding Committee convener Ummer U H (9845054191), C-24, Al Rahaba Plaza, Mangalore – 575 001, he added.
BCF secretary Abdulla Madumoole, vice president Mohammed Rafeeq Krishnapura, advisor Basheer Bajpe and Ummer U H were present at the media conference.
The organizers have also informed that women from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chickmaglur and Kasargod districts can apply.
