Shirva, 12 March 2013: It has become a routine for the robbers and thieves  to break into houses and loot the valuables as has been reported in many such incidents recently. In a similar incident robbers broke into a house belonging to Raghupati Aithal in Panjimar near  Shirva during Sunday-Monday night. It is learnt that Raghupati along with his wife and children had gone to Karwar  to attend a function at his friend’s house.

On his return early in the morning of Monday at around  2.30 am, Raghupati  was shocked to see his main door was broken open and valuables were stolen. Incidentally, the lock of the compound gate was intact.  It seems that the robbers attempted to enter the house by breaking open the rear door. However, having failed they managed to break open the lock of the front main door.

Having got a rude shock of the robbery, Raghupati immediately contacted the Shirva Police station who responded promptly and rushed to the spot of the crime. Raghupati discovered that the robbers had decamped with one golden mangalasutra and two gold chains weighing approximately 60 grams. Cash amounting Rs. 6,000 was also taken away.  It seems that the thieves had not even spared the gods as they had taken away a  silver plate and a silver tumbler from the prayer room. The total loss in this robbery  has been computed to be around 2 lakhs of rupees.

Incidentally, it seems that the robbers have a penchant for gold and silver ornaments and cash. They spared the desk top computer and a laptop. Kaup Circle Inspector Shivananda Walikar, Shirva Sub Inspector K.R. Nayak, Asst. Sub Inspector Shivaprasad, finger print experts and the Police dog team conducted the usual investigation.  Once again it has been proved that the robbers strike at those houses which are left unattended when the occupants go away even for a night.

Whenever I visit Moodubelle, I see civil police stopping the vehicle and checking the records collecting fines without receipts. I feel there is a need of change in the police department. Let RTO do the vehicle inspection and let Civil police control the thefts and Burglars which is increasing day by day.

OHH MY GOD!!! WHERE IS BAJRANG DAL.NOW . WHY THEY ARE NOT HELPING THE POLICE TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM .I THINK THEY ARE TRAINED TO ATTACK ONLY ON INNOCENT PEOPLE.

@ Salvador you are right. This is another example of failure of Shirva police. Yes indeed many thefts in recent days but what police department is doing? Continuous thefts in the region which comes under Shirva police station. I really doubt is there any link in between police and the burglars? What is the reason for not arresting any of the burglars? Can anyone explain me?
