Monhti Fest at Church Of Our Lady Of Assumption, Kandivli(W)

Mumbai, 22 Sep 2012: Assumption Konkani Sangh, Kandivli (W) organised the Monti Fest (nativity of Mother Mary’s feast) on 15th September 2012 at Church of Our Lady of Assumption, Kandivli West. Before the mass corn was blessed by Rev. Fr. Baptist Pais and Rev. Fr. Byron Mendonca. Children brought flowers to shower on Mother Mary. This was followed by holy mass. The mass was celebrated by Fr. Baptist Pais, Andheri.

 

After the mass, cultural entertainment programme organised at St. Joseph’s school hall. Mr. John D’silva and Fr. Baptist Pais were the chief guests for the programme. Cultural programme organised by Ms. Rhea Quadras which  was well appreciated by the audience. Ms. Caren Vaz and Mr. Melvin D’souza along with Mr. Pravin Pereira compered the programme beautifully. Assumption Konkani Sangh’s brief report was given by the Vice President Mrs. Sevrin Pinto. Mr. D’silva and Fr. Baptist Pais appreciated the efforts of the Konkani speaking parishioners.

 

 

The programme theme was ‘importance of the girl child and providing dignity and respect to the senior citizens’. Small skits were put up by youth and adults to emphasize on the theme. Children entertained the audience with the variety of dances. During the stage programme, Mr. Michael Sequeira, President of Assumption Konkani Sangh welcomed the distinguished guests. Royston Pinto was felicitated for getting elected as a youth president at Mumbai Arch Diocese Level. Ms. Mafina Sequeira was felicitated as a Youth of the Year for her outstanding contribution towards the Association. Mementos were distributed to all donors.

 

On the stage Past Presidents Mr. A J Pereira and Mr. John D’Souza were also present for the programme. The secretary of the Association Mr. Valerian Pais proposed the vote of thanks. Programme concluded by providing meal of first harvest to all.
