Good response for Parents Day celebration in St. Lawrence Parish, Moodubelle

Moodubelle, 16 Oct 2017: Around four hundred people participated in the Parents Day celebration organized jointly by Women and Family Commission Units of St. Lawrence Parish, Moodubelle on Sunday, 15 October 2017. Holy Mass in the church at 10 am followed by a brief stage and cultural programme and sumptuous lunch marked the parents day celebration.
Fr. William Martis along with Fr. Clement Mascarenhas concelebrated the Holy Mass. Delievering the homily, Fr. William Martis highlighted the importance of the parent’s day. He said that the parents of Mother Mary, Joachim and Anna were the ideal parents who have been revered by the church since the early centuries of the Christian era. Fr. William further aid that it is very important for us to remember our forefathers and thank them for their difficult but holy and devout life who had passed on the faith to us.
Soon after the mass, a brief stage programme was organized in St. Lawrence PU College hall. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas presided over the function. Fr. William Martis, Fr. Lawrence Cutinha, Fr. Denis D’Sa, Vincent Fernandes, Mrs. Latha D’Mello, Mrs. Monica D’Souza-Convener of 18 Commissions and Mrs. Gretta Fernandes-President of Women’s Organization (Stree Sanghattan) were present on the dais.
The chief guest of the function, Fr. William Martis as an extension of his homily narrated the importance of prayer in the family citing examples for his own life.
Fr. Denis D’Sa entertained the parents by narrating few hilarious anecdotes.
Fr. Clement Mascarenhas conveyed his greetings to all the parents of the parish and wished them good health and peace of mind and happiness.
Members of the Stree Sanghattan presented a welcome dance and a hilarious skit.
Few spot games were organized for the entertainment of the parents.
Mrs. Gretta Fernandes welcomed the guests and the audience, Mrs. Gracy rebello proposed the vote of thanks and Nevil D’Souza compeered the programme.
