Udupi: Free Eye Check up Camp conducted in Lions Seva Bhavan, Moodubelle

Udupi/M’Belle, 24 Sept 2017: Free Eye Check up Camp, jointly organized by Lions Club, Moodubelle, Prasad Netralaya Udupi, Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Village Development Programme, KK Friends, Kappandakariya, Health Commission of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle and Shree Vyasaraya Ballal Family was conducted on Sunday, 24 Septembr 2017 from 9.30am to 12.30 pm in Lions Seva Bhavan, Moodubelle. Around 120 persons took advantage of this free eye check up camp. 

 

The Free Eye Check up Camp was inaugurated by Dr. Akshay of Prasad Netralaya Udupi by lighting the lamp along with other dignitaries on the dais including Ln. Gerald Fernandes-President of Lions Club Moodubelle, Ln. Henry Fernandes-Treasurer, Madhukar-PRO of Prasad Netraylaya Udupi, Mrs. Victoria-Senior Nurse in Prasad Netralaya, Prabhakar Marne- Service Representative of Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Village Development Programme, Mrs. Precilla Alva-Convner of Health Commission of Moodubelle Parish, Ivan D’Almieda of KK Friends Kappandakariya, Leo Joy Fernandes-President of Leo Club Moodubelle and Ln. Devdas Hebbar-Region Advisor.

Madhukar, PRO of Prasad Netralaya advised the participants in the Free Eye Check up Camp to preserve their eye sight by taking care of their eyes through regular eye check up. He assured all kind of assistance to those who visit Prasad Netralaya through the Lions Club of Moodubelle. 

 

This was the eighteenth Free Eye Check up Camp organized by Lions Club Moodubelle since its foundation twenty years ago. Thousands of  people have benefitted through such eye camps conducted by the Lions Club of Moodubelle. 

 

Out of 120 persons who had undergone eye check up, 20 were advised cataract operation which would be done by Prasad Netralaya free of charge. Many were provided spectacles at concessional rates.

 

At the end of the Free Eye Check up Camp, Ln. Gerald Fernandes presented a memento to Dr. Akshay  as a token of gratitude to the entire staff of Prasad Netralaya.

 

Leo Joys Fernandes recited prayer; Ln. Gerald Fernandes welcomed the gathering; Ln. Henry Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks and Ln. Devdas Hebbar compeered the programme.
