New Delhi: Chetan Ambler’s short film ’Aralida Baduku’ wins national-level challen

New Delhi/Manipal, 24 May 2017: Clifford Chetan Ambler, a first year Masters student of School of Communication, Manipal University secured the third place at a national-level community radio-video challenge organized by CEMCA (Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia) and AIMS (Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication) for his four minute Kannada film ‘Aralida Baduku.’
The award ceremony was held on May 17 at India International Centre, New Delhi. The theme of this year’s competition was ‘Community Radio for Sustainable Development.’
The film, ‘Aralida Baduku’ focuses on how community radio aids are sustainable agricultural activities related to decent work and self-reliance. The story is based on a family dependent on Jasmine cultivation in Shankarpura, Udupi.
While Averil Shreya Ambler played the role of a flower seller, Shashikala Kotian played the role of her mother. Rathi Nair and Shobha Prabhakar played the role of customers. Music was composed by Girish Tantry. Andrew Lobo and Shyam Bhat contributed to the story.
