Udupi, 22 Feb 2017: On 11th February, 2017 Malpe beach visitors witnessed a carnival, a festival and a celebration altogether. ‘Seazzle’- a name for the blend of food and beach is a food and music festival organised by Mantra Travel and Tourism Development Company with Centre for Hospitality and Tourism Research, WGSHA, Manipal University. The event attracted around 2,000 visitors, both families and students from the neighboring towns.
The event organised by the students of the representing college included food stalls by DOCA, performance by live bands and artists and various other attractions like photo booths and handicraft counters. The stalls had a variety of food that included starters, main course, desserts as well as mock tails. To ensure that they catered to the needs of every visitor, the menu consisted of vegetarian and non- vegetarian options including sea food. Various artists like Bombay Karma, Flick and Rijul and Band played fine music that added to the serene ambience of the beach. From an acoustic night to a bollywood dance party, Seazzle changed colours like the setting sun. In fact, visitors also said that the ambience at the beach felt like an international beach carnival!
This event acted as a means to develop and promote tourism at the Malpe beach and the other attractions nearby. It also facilitated the students in enhancing their event organizing, crowd management, service quality management and stress handling skills. Seazzle on whole, was not just food and music, it was a complete experience in itself that benefited every visitor as well as the organizers.
