Karkala: Group of Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences to visit Japan from Jan 17 to 26

Karkala, 11 Jan 2017: Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences, Nitte University, has been selected for the prestigious Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science, named SAKURA.
This programme is fully funded by the Japan Science and Technology agency. Eleven members of the team which include 4 faculties, 5 postgraduates and 2 undergraduate students will be visiting Japan from January 17 to January 26, for research discussions and for enhancing collaboration in the field of nursing science and technology and opening further avenues for providing quality patient care. The team will be led by Professor Fatima D’Silva, principal of the College who impressed the visiting team with all the ongoing activities in Nursing which then prompted the Miyazaki University officials to begin the cooperation and extend invitation to the visiting team. This exchange program has been possible through the constant efforts of Dr Kaneko, President of the University, Dr Masugi Maruyama, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, and Dr Harish Madhyastha, Professor of Physiology and Medicine, from University of Miyazaki, Japan and Professor Ramananda Shetty, Vice Chancellor, Dr Indrani Karunasagar, Research Director and Dr Anirban Chakrabarty from Nitte University. The visit is certain to pave the way for intense cooperation in Nursing research and training.
