Konkan Railway to run Mangaluru-Mumbai special train to clear festive passenger rush
Mangaluru, 21 Dec 2016: Konkan Railway in association with Western Railway has decided to run special trains with special fare between Mumbai Central – Mangalore Junction - Mumbai Central to clear extra rush of passengers during Christmas festive season.
Train Number 09009/09010 Mumbai Central – Mangalore Jn – Mumbai Central (weekly) special train with special fare.
Train number 09009 Mumbai Central – Mangalore junction weekly special train with special fare will leave from Mumbai Central at 23:15 hours on (Wednesday) December 28 and January 04, 2017. Train will reach Mangalore Jn at 19:30 hours on the next day.
Train number 09010 Mangalore Jn. - Mumbai central weekly special train will leave from Mangalore junction at 22:30 hours on December 29, 2016 and January 05, 2017. The train will reach Mumbai central at 17:50 hours on the next day.
The train will have 15 coaches and will halt at Borivali, Vasai Road, Panvel, Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim, Karmali, Madgaon, Karwar, Kumta, Bhatkal, Mookambika Road Byndoor, Kundapura, Udupi, Mulki and Suratkal stations.
It seems that Konkan railways doesnt want people to travel via train. The announcment of such train is a joke. Two points: 1. The train is running around 19- 20 hrs and the usual train is running for 14-15 hrs to reach Mangalore from Mumbao. 2. It is a special fare train. Which means pay more and the time taken to reach Managalore is also more. Konkan railwys requires a proper planning agency. Regards Akshay
