Bantwal: Head teacher abuses student for voicing shoddy mid-day meals at Neerapade

Bantwal, 30 Nov 2016: A student was abused for voicing the irregularities at mid-day hot meals served at her school, during Children’s Gram Sabha here on Tuesday, November 29.
The students were warned before attending Children’s meeting, not to voice school issues and wrongdoing of teachers of Neerapade Higher Primary School, near here. One of the student spilled the beans about the highhandedness of head teacher in not providing curd and varieties of curries in different days of week as stipulated in the schedule, and making watery sambar that none of the students had during afternoon.
This specific student was admonished by the head teacher to her office, after the meeting and scolded for voicing the mid-day meal issue at the children’s meeting. The girl student collapsed while other teachers rushed to her help.
The school betterment Committee president Harish Kandila, gram panchayat president Vittal, vice president Poornima, members Sundar Salian, Vasant Salian, Mohan P S, Rajani, Committee members Srinivas Poojary, Chennappa Kotian and others taken the head teacher to the task over the issue.
The issue was reported to Bantwal BEO Lokesh who was in a meeting at Mangaluru, assured to attend to the issue on Wednesday, November 30.
