Mangaluru: Hands on Workshop on Surgical Orthodontics at A B Shetty Dental College

Mangaluru, 30 Sep 2016: The department of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, here in association with A B Shetty Ortho Alumni organized a Workshop on Surgical Orthodontics here from Monday, September 26 to Tuesday, September 27.

 

Professor Dr Sadashiva Shetty, principal, Bapuji Dental College, Davengere and Professor Dr Akshai Shetty and Professor Dr Pramod Subashn were the faculty. Professor Dr U S Krishna Nayak, principal and Dean welcomed the gathering.

 

 

Professor Dr Deepak Chandra, national secretary, Indian Orthodontic Society was the chief guest.

 

Professor Dr N Sridhar Shetty, director CADSS and former Dean, Professor Dr B Rajendra Prasad, director PG Studies, Professor Dr N Mithra Hegde, vice principal, Professor Dr M S Ravi, head of department of orthodontics and Professor Dr Ashutosh Shetty, organizing secretary were also present.

 

As a part of this program, scientific lectures were delivered by the guest faculty. The program was well attended and appreciated by more than 180 delegates including head of department, staff and postgraduate students and private practitioners from Colleges as far as Bangaluru, Tumakur, Gulbarga, Kozhikode and Kochi.

 

On the second Day, Workshop was organized where Hands on Training was given to make mock surgery on models. Around 60 orthodontists, orthodontic and oral and maxillofacial surgery postgraduate students from Colleges in and around Mangaluru and neighboring states attended this very useful workshop.
