Bus conductor jumps into river after quarrel with passenger
Sullia, 26 Sep 2016: In an incident reported, a KSRTC bus conductor jumped into the Kumaradhara River after quarrelling with a lady over change to be given; the incident took place on Sunday noon.
The conductor, aged 42, hailed from Vamanjoor; he was washed away and efforts are on to trace his body.
It is said that the bus was plying from Mangaluru to Subrahmanya. A lady passenger argued that she had given the conductor a Rs 500 note and that the conductor returned only Rs 100. The conductor however, said that the lady had given him only a Rs 100 note. The argument continued and they arrived at a compromise after reaching Kadaba police station.
The journey continued, but the lady remained adamant and began arguing. The conductor upset at the incident, jumped into the river at bridge near Subrahmanya. He was immediately washed away.
The driver of the bus filed a complaint at Subrahmanya police station.
