Mangaluru International Airport requires Rs 4K Cr for runway extension: AAI

Mangaluru, 14 Sep 2017: According to a new proposal by Airport Authority of India (AAI), Mangaluru international airport requires a grant of Rs 4,000 crore to expand its existing runway. In a meeting presided by Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel on Wednesday in the airport, AAI officials stated that a grant of Rs 4, 000 crore is essential to finish the runway extension and pending works in the airport.

 

Meanwhile, the airport officials stated that Rs 4, 000 crore fund require only for land acquisition to expand the runway further. Speaking on the occasion, Nalin Kumar Kateel said, the state government should identify the land to acquire the same and AAI starts expansion works once the land handed over to it by the state government.
