Aftermath of knife attack in Kalladka; Sec 144 extended

Bantwal, 10 Jun 2017: It’s aftermath of knife attack incident that occurred at Kalladka, near here, on May 26, thousands of policemen including armed personnel are deployed along with senior officers camping at the location, fearing communal clashes that may erupt any time. Section 144 clamped on entire Bantwal taluk for 21 days. The prohibitary orders now stand valid till June 16.

 

The police have arrested 2 suspects who are indirectly involved in the knife attack. The police are yet to arrest the accused. Kalladka locality on Mangaluru – Bengaluru NH, about 30 kilometer from Mangaluru city is communally sensitive and the law enforcement authorities don’t want to take chances for imminent communal flare ups especially during Ramadan.
