Bantwal: Police raid illegal sand mining unit at Barimar, seize sand & boats

Bantwal, 18 Mar 2017: The police raided illegal sand mining unit operating on the banks of Netravati River at Barimar, near here on Friday, March 17, and seized the sand worth Rs 10 lac extracted from the river bed by the divers.

 

 

The operation was carried out at the direction of SP Bhushan G Borase, by ASP Vedamurti, Bantwal DySP Ravish C R, circle inspector Manjayya and other policemen.

 

The police seized 20 truckloads of sand, 12 boats and other equipments used to source the sand from the river bed.

 

Bantwal rural police registered a case in this regard.
