Private Bus Owners raise bus fares by Rs 3 as toll cess from Feb 17

 

Udupi, 16 Feb 2017: Private bus owners have decided to raise bus ticket charges by Rs 3 in those buses which move through Sasthan and Hejamadi toll gates as the toll collection has begun at the toll gates. The new bus charges will come into force from February 17.

 

The private buses should remit Rs 195 as toll at Sasthan whereas Rs 160 is collected as toll at Hejamadi toll gate. Therefore it is essential to raise the ticket charges with immediate effect, said Canara Bus Owners Association Vice President Sadananda Chathra speaking to the press reporters on Wednesday in Udupi city. According to the decision taken, bus fare from Udupi to Mangaluru will be raised from 60 to Rs 63 where as from Udupi to Kundapur the passengers should pay Rs 43 against previous fare of Rs 40.
