Mangaluru: Citizens queue for daily necessities fearing extn of Covid-19 lockdown beyond Apr 14

Mangaluru, 11 Apr 2020: The people fearing extension of Covid-19 nationwide lockdown from April 15, began queuing up in grocery shops and pharmacies during relaxed hours between 7.00am and 12.00pm, here on Saturday, April 11.
The nationwide lockdown is set to get over on April 14 at 11.59pm. It would be extended at the discretion of both union and state administration.
Meanwhile, the people can now only hope the lockdown ceases as early as possible and normal life resumes.
MLC Ivan D’Souza distributed rice and life essentials at Shivabagh ward, here on Saturday, in the presence of former corporator Sabita Misquit, Noushad Bikarnakatte, Pius Monteiro and others.
The people have exhausted their savings to buy rations and are desperate at these testing times are queuing up for rations that is distributed by Good Samaritans without bias on humanitarian grounds.
