Adani Udupi Power Corporation Ltd. power plant at Yellur is finest in India - Ron Somers

Udupi, 16 Jan 2017: ‘Seeing is believing,’ said long-time friend of Dakshina Kannada, Ron Somers, CEO and founder of India First Group LLC, based in Washington, DC, USA, during his visit to Adani UPCL power plant in Yellur village, near here on Sunday, January 15.

 

Kishore Alva, Company’s Joint President, welcomed Ron Somers and explained the detailed process of power plant, company’s concern on environment and also the CSR activities. He recollected the days he had spent with Ron Somers in Congentrix company. Alva said that Ron is his Guru and his advice, guidelines has helped him in execution of his present activities in Adani UPCL.

 

 

Addressing the UPCL Officials during his visit, Ron Somers said that he had envisioned a similar type of project way back in 1994 and now Adani Group is operating this power plant beyond the imagination and he is very proud to see that this project is being operated in a wonderful manner.

 

He further said that although he comes to India frequently, he had not been able to return to Padubidri and Yellur for 17 years, since 1999, due to his duties promoting Indo-US ties at US - India Business Council earlier and more recently owing to efforts to advance Indo-US collaboration through his own firm at India First Group.

 

Appreciating the UPCL plant, Ron said, ‘I am heartened to see the Adani Udupi Power Project operating efficiently, surrounded by greenery, with state of the art technology to minimize and control emissions, and, most importantly, respecting local culture and the people of the district. By any measure, the Adani Udupi Power Project is the finest example of modern power generation in all of India.’
