Mumbai: Sports essential for Healthy Living – Sachin Tendulkar

Mumbai, 13 Jan 2014: The good health is essential for better living.  Health is everything in life, therefore, the need to lay special emphasis on good health that can be enhanced with sports.  The sports play key role in ones life.  It energized the mind and body to take jest of life, said legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

 
Tendulkar was speaking after inaugurating the annual sports meet of Bantara Sangha Mumbai which was organized for the first time by its regional Committee at Dr D Y Patil University grounds, Nerul, Navi Mumbai, here on Sunday January 12.

 
Maharashtra state excise minister and Thane district-in-charge minister Ganesh Naik was the chief guest of the occasion.

 

MP Sanjeev Naik, MLAs Pratap Sarnayak, Yeknat Shinde and Rajan Vichare, corporators Vinay Madvi, Manohar Madvi, Vijay More and Vijay Mane, veteran politicians Ramdas Kadam, Vijay Chougle (Shiv Sena), Bantara Sangh Mumbai ® former presidents M DShetty, Dr P V Shetty and Ikala Harish Shetty, entrepreneurs Krishna T Shetty, Jayaram N Shetty, Sudhakar S Hegde, Bhujanga M Shetty and others were the guests of honor offered motion for the sports meet by releasing the balloons into the sky.

 

 


Speaking on the occasion, minister Ganesh Naik announced Rs 15 lac being his person contribution  to Bantara Sangha Mumbai ® on the occasion.   

 
Bantara Sangha Mumbai ® vice president Karnire Vishwanat Shetty, honorary chief secretary chartered accountant Sadasiv B Shetty, honorary treasurer Satish N Shetty, joint secretary Ultoor Mohandas Shetty, joint treasurer Praveen B Shetty, women wing president Lata P Shetty, youth wing president Shivaprasad Shetty, sports Committee president Ratnakar Shetty Mundkoor, Navi Mumbai regional Committee founder president K D Shetty, advisor Santosh D Shety, former president Talipadyguttu Bhaskar Shetty, regional Committee president Sanjeev Shetty and others were present on the occasion.   

 
The athletes of Bombay Bunts Association, JAVAB, Mulund Bunts, Thane Bunts, Mira – Dahanu Bunts and Bunts Forum Mira Road participated in the sports meet on the occasion.

 
Bunts Sangh president chartered accountant Shankar B Shetty welcomed the gathering.  Karnoor Mohan Rai and Ashok Pakkala compered the programme.  Jaya A Shetty, Ikala Gunapal Shetty and Vijay Shetty were the referees of sports meet.  The chartered accountant Sadashiv B Shetty proposed vote of thanks.
