Navi Mumbai, 5 Nov 2013: The Tulu – Kannadigas’ who were settled in greater Mumbai held candle-lit protest seeking justice in Soujanya’s murder and rape case and also held a discussion meet at Kannada Sangh, here on Monday November 4 evening.
Kempe Gowda Association president Somashekar Gowda, journalist J Puria, social activist Mala Karunakar Shetty, young entrepreneurs Rajesh Gowda and Maddadka Anand Shetty were present at the meeting.
The young organizer Satish Yermal delivered the introductory address, while each one expressed their views on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Puria said that the investigating police officers were transferred related to registering the case of Soujanya’s rape and murder. The inner garments of her were changed with no trace of what she wore at the heinous crime. The sanctity of Dharmasthala is desecrated. The accused has to be traced at the earliest, said Puria.
Somashekar Gowda said that a massive protest will be staged seeking justice for Soujanya, after the small gathering on Monday November 4 evening.
Umesh Kumar said that hundreds of such cases have taken place in the periphery of Dharmasthala and Ujire in the past 35 years. The justice of Soujanya will save future victims.
Satish Yermal said that it’s the first step seeking justice for Soujanya in the Mumbai. The reports submitted by investigation agencies are just eyewash because it seemed they are being come under pressure form vested interests including politicians. Santosh who is accused in Soujanya’s case is innocent who has been made a scapegoat. Despite 13 months were passed since the heinous crime, the justice is delayed. Swami Esha Vittaladas of Kemaru mutt, social activist Mahesh Shetty Timarody, local MLA Vasant Bangera, Guruvayanakere – Nagarika Seva Trust chairman Somanath Nayak are like 4 pillars who are championing the cause of justice to Soujanya. The youth are likely to join in waging struggle in this regard. Even if the case is being transferred to CBI and it also submits the same bogus reports similar to CoD and CID, then it will have no meaning. Meanwhile, if people collectively approach Supreme Court and it directs thorough probe, one can expect impartial probe. It would indeed put an end to barbaric killing of girls, said Satish Yermal.
