Mumbai: Memorial Programme held for Kateel Gopalakrishna Asranna

Mumbai,24 Sep 2013: The Late Kateel Gopalakrishna Asranna Abhimani Balaga, Mumbai organized a memorial programme in honor of the late Kateel Gopalakrishna Asranna at Radhabai Timmappa Bhandary auditorium, Buns Bhavan, Kurla (East) here on Sunday September 22 evening.

 

The metro based Bunts Sangh president CA. Shankar B.Shetty presided the programme. Kateel Laxminarayan Asranna and Swami Suvarna Baba of Panchakutir Mahashesha Rundamalini temple, Powai graced the occasion.

 

The metro Bunts community leader Aikala Harish Shetty felicitated Swami Suvarna Baba, Laxminarayan Asranna and several Yakshagana aartistes on the occasion.

Rai, Dr. Suresh Rao, Karnire Vishwanat Shetty, Vamayya Shetty Chembur, Babu N. Shetty Attur, Vishwanat V.Shetty Aikala, Ganesh V.Shetty Aikala, Babu N.Shetty Malad, Indrali Divakar Shetty, Vishwanath Shetty Mudashedde, Ratnakar Shetty, Rohit Shetty,  B.D. Suvarana, Goapl S.Puthran, Surendra Kumar Hegde, Ashok M.Kotian Thane, Chandrashekar Palettady,  Suresh R.Shetty, S.N. Udupa, Ashok T. Salian, Naven Shetty, Dayashankar Shetty, Vasu Shetty, Chadrakant Shetty, Sanjeeva Shetty, Nilesh Shetty, Sudhakar Poojary, Nitesh Shetty, Anand D. Shetty, Prakash Nidwannaya and others were the guests of honor present on the occasion.

 

 

Kateel Durgaparameshwari Yakshagana troupe manager Y.Karunakar Shetty, convener Prakash M.Shetty Suratkal and others were also present. The veteran Yakshagana artiste Karnoor Mohan Rai welcomed the gathering and compered the programme. The organizer Padmanabha Kateel (Dubai) proposed vote of thanks.

 

Sri Devi Leelamrut, mythological episode was presented in Yakshagana form, by the most versatile artistes drawn from Perdoor Yakshagana troupe, Dharmasthala Yakshagana troupe, Kateel Durgaparameshwari troupe, Hosnagar Ramachandrapur troupe, Yedaneer troupe and Sunkadakatte Ambica Annapoorneshwari troupe on the occasion.

 

The confluence of over 60 Yakshagana artistes mesmerized the audience with their superb show of Tenku Badagu style, rekindling religious awakening.
