Kalakiran Lifetime Achievement awarded to Sangeet Ratna Victor Concessao

Mumbai, 12 Aug 2013: Kalakiran Lifetime Achievement award was conferred on Sangeet Ratna Victor Concessao on 11th August, 2013 at Karnataka Sangha Hall, Matunga, Mumbai in a colourful ceremony attended by hundreds of his well-wishers and fans.

 

Printania fame, Shri Albert W. D’Souza was the Chief Guest of the function  and Messrs John D’Silva, Henry Lobo, P. N. Shanbhag, Lawrence D’Souza-Kamani (writer and director of the play Moga Khatir), Walter D’Souza, Jerimeri, Shri Lawrence Coelho were the guest of honour.

 

Shri Victor Concessao was presented with a Citation, Shawl, Peta, Flowers, Fruits and a Cheque of Rs.2,50,000/- (Rupees two lakhs fifty thousand only) which is a record in the history of Konkani in Mumbai.

 

Kalakiran presented their latest venture, “Moga Khatir...! A Melodrama, written and directed by Shri Lawrence D’Souza-Kamani as a part of entertainment.  Francis Olivera Padukone, Edwin Baanz Sastaan, Gregory Sequeira Niddodi, Florine Mathias Mira Road, Cyril Castelino Malad, Felix D’Souza Malvani, Sunil Fernandes Sakinaka, Richard Crasta Loretto, George A. Sequeira Bhyandar and Roashan Misquith were in the cast.

 

 

Sangeet Samrat Henry D’Souza, Konkan Keer Lawrence Saldanha, Harryboy, Smt. Benedicta Rebello, Valerian Lewis Kamani, Joseph D’Souza (Osworld Scientific), V. D’Silva, Kanjur Marg, Smt Susan Coelho, Smt Gladys D’Silva, Leo Fernandes Jerimeri, Smt Valerin D’Souza- Kamani, Vincent Castelino Vidyavihar and many other Konkani lovers witnessed the ceremony.

 

Shri Victor Concessao while receiving the Award thanked the almighty and all other well-wishers who contributed generously towards this Award.

 

Shri John D’Silva welcomed the audience. Shri Lawrence D’Souza-Kamani proposed the vote of thanks and Smt. Flora D’Souza, Jerimeri compered the programme.  Mr. Joseph D’Souza Jerimeri read the Citation.  The programme started with a prayer dance by Kumari Jovila D’Souza Jerimeri.
